About the Directory, Public Waiver, and Terms of Use
Welcome to Canada’s Directory for Animal-Assisted Human Services (AAHS), compliments of The Canadian Foundation for Animal-Assisted Support Services (CF4AASS). This Directory serves as a national resource designed to educate the public and support researchers, donors, and stakeholders in navigating this emerging and fragmented human services industry. As the Directory continues to grow, with new service provider profiles added over time, we appreciate your patience. We also encourage visitors to participate in polls to help identify what is working well and where improvements are needed.
Directory Access
By accessing this Directory, you acknowledge that CF4AASS does not endorse, certify, or verify any listed service provider. Users are encouraged to conduct their own research before contacting or engaging any AAHS service provider. All interactions, communications, or services initiated through this Directory are undertaken at your discretion.
The Directory is an impartial source of information. Service Providers operate independently of CF4AASS, which does not mediate disputes or oversee service quality. Users should confirm and consider the service provider’s credentials, safety practices, etc. and suitability before making contact.
Profiles are submitted voluntarily by Animal-Assisted Human Services Providers (AAHSPs) and Animal-Assisted Services Professionals (AASPs). CF4AASS does not verify, endorse, certify, or guarantee the qualifications, practices, scope of work, or safety of any listed individuals or organizations. However, CF4AASS is pleased to note that there is growing interest in the prospect of CF4AASS establishing a voluntary third-party certification/accreditation program. This momentum follows the approval of CAN/HRSO-500.01-2021 – The Development of a Management System for Animal-Assisted Human Services (AAHS), the first National Standard of Canada (NSC) for the AAHS industry, published on 2022‑09‑11 by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC).
